Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (VASLP) K-8 School-Based Itinerant Position
Location: Alexandria, VA (Itinerant; travel to multiple school sites)
Duration: Contract through 6/25/2026 | Full-Time (36.25 hours/week)
This position offers an opportunity to provide vital speech-language pathology services in a dynamic K-8 school environment across Alexandria, VA. The role involves delivering onsite support for a full-time caseload, covering an extended FMLA absence in a school-based setting. This contract requires flexibility and reliability as the clinician will travel between school sites within the district.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to K-8 students following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
- Participate in virtual interviews via Zoom as part of the hiring process (1530 minutes).
Qualifications:
- Valid and active Virginia SLP license required (applicants must provide a screenshot of the license upon submission).
- Preference given to candidates holding the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
- Strong consideration for Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) with a minimum of two years of school-based experience.
- Prior experience working in school settings, especially K-8, strongly preferred.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various school locations within Alexandria.
- Ability to manage scheduling and availability to accommodate itinerant service delivery.
